Let’s imagine David Hasselhoff’s Mitch get replaced by Dwayne Johnson (San Andreas, Central Intelligence) and David Chokachi’s Cody by Zac Efron (17 Again, Neighbours)? Well, you don’t have to, since this replacement has been confirmed to appear on a reboot called as the TV serial is, Baywatch. Excited?
Talking excitement, we’re not sure which one is more anticipated; to see Johnson rock the Miami Beach team as the new Mitch or to let his duet with Efron pull off some (or many) slapstick humor into the reboot. As for the first, we sense a nuance of his typical leadership and toughness of no rock bottom. As for the latter, we likely enjoy the new element but worry the lifeguard drama will turn into hurtful jokes.
But we bet your eyes won’t be hurt cos the babes are equally hot. As we all know that the TV serial was joined by sexy yet powerful ensemble; some have been notorious for their daring poses on media (read: Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleed, Nicole Eggert, and Carmen Electra), so how this reboot can compete the original fierceness?
Served on the sea plate, we have Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas) as the new sexy brainy Summer Quinn, Kelly Rohrbach as the new wild chick C.J Parker, Ilfenesh Hadera (Oldboy, Chi-Raq) as the new captain Stephanie Holden, and Priyanka Chopra (Quantico) plays a brand new bitchy character. Avoiding any false assumption, let’s just expect to see the new ensemble set off for a new energy bar with the signature red one-piece!
Talking action, we sense Johnson and Efron will pull off a 21-Jump Street vibe; playing both lifeguards and sea cops, chasing a crime syndicate to rock bottom and beyond. There’s no hint yet who the serial killer is and apparently it arouses only slight curiosity. The main focus is likely on the solid relationship built among the new members and how good they handle the typical situation; saving people from any type of watery danger. But can they save themselves from hitting rock bottom? We manage to dive in and see!
