Gru (Steve Carell) and his Minions are about to return for another mission this summer. Gru who has been completely sober since Despicable Me 2 (2013), seemingly enjoy his role as a dad and a companion of Lucy (Kristen Wiig), while Minions are seen making a noise at a beach party.
Gru and Lucy later nicknamed as Grucy, despite their romantic relationship, are field agents working under The Anti-Villain League (AVL). And so does the plot of this 3rd installment linger on the new task of capturing a brand new villain. He’s Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), a man calling himself a supervillain with a great influence of 80s hip-hop and fashion style; must be a huge fan of Michael Jackson and Prince, with a bonus of shiny shoulder pads.
The trailer shows Balthazar is good at fighting whilst dancing. He’s slick and equipped with unanticipated super gadgets. He seems to enjoy music beats while beating up Gru for getting in his way. The only thing we’re not certain yet is the motive of Balthazar doing the crime. Is he dreaming for the same goal Gru once did or is he simply being troublemaker for fun? However, seeing the object, that huge diamond, the two fight over, we believe there’s a sinister plan Balthazar has in mind.
This first trailer hasn’t shown any of Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Nev Scharrel) nor Gru’s long lost twin brother, Dru. Let’s just wait for the 2nd trailer in which Gru is home and gets overwhelmed by the new household problems.
Release Schedule: June 2017
